Welcome! I'm Judi Arthur.
Pronouns: she/her
I'm passionate about empowering individuals who have lived through traumatic experiences, are facing grief & loss, or struggling with a health crisis to reorient themselves towards a healing pathway & restore their resiliency!
My counselling practice is informed by over 15 years of experience working as a helping professional in the health care system, and focuses on promoting practices that are nurturing, healing, and balancing. At the heart of my work, I bring the culmination of my experience as a clinical nutritionist, registered clinical counsellor, & EMDR Certified Therapist (EMDRIA) into my holistic therapeutic practice specializing in grief, trauma, PTSD, chronic pain & endometriosis, cancer recovery, eating disorders, body image issues, stress management, high sensitivity, and anxiety. My private practice has been complemented by her work with organizations such as The Bloom Group, Surrey Hospice Society, Centre for Pelvic Pain & Endometriosis at BC Women's Hospital, and BC Cancer.
At Sacred Circle Counselling, I offer a welcoming space where you are invited to 'come as you are'. Within this space, I provide trauma-informed, culturally-responsive, gender-affirming, queer-friendly care. I am committed to inclusive anti-oppressive values and welcome folks across the diverse spectrum of abilities, gender, sexuality, race, culture, body size, and religion.
I have a warm, calming, non-judgmental presence, and an authentic passion for assisting people through transitional periods of liminal space. At different times in life, we are in liminal space when we approach a threshold of change such as during the grieving process or letting go of an old way of doing things.
I am inspired by sacred circles such as flowers, labyrinths, mandalas, and medicine wheels because they provide a way of understanding our need for wholeness, contemplation, balance, and mindfulness. By going within, we can connect to our center- our internal compass - and listen. It is here that we can find guidance, peace, and ultimately solutions. My role as a therapist is to facilitate this process with you in the comfort and safety of the counselling space.
I provide counselling to individuals and facilitate healing circles for grief & loss, body positivity, and self-care practices. I have also facilitated educational workshops for the Fraser Health Authority, Surrey Teachers Convention, and SFU Continuing Education.
